We recognize that product safety testing for IT products is imperative to gain the necessary certification, especially on an international scale.
Different governments have different electrical safety and electromagnetic (EMC) requirements for information technology equipment (ITE), such as PC, laptop PC, monitors, projectors and printers, etc. Depending on the country or area, partial categories may be regulated under energy efficiency acts. If it has a wireless function, additional radio frequency (RF) testing will also be required.
The 60950-1 series are the most popular safety standards applied to ITE; however, continuously less distinction exists today between ITE and audio/video (AV) product categories. As a result, in 2010 the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) published standard IEC 62368-1 that is intended to replace the standards covering the two categories in the future.
ITE products are subject to the following testing and certification according to each country’s regulations.
